Memorial Day thoughts

As I sit here with my boy and wait for these fireworks I can’t help but watch all the prying eyes. I can’t help but think that these people that can’t grip the love that I have for my boys is the same love that I devoted to these people to protect their country that way they have a safe place to live. That way they can walk down the streets without having to worry about someone protecting them from war. it’s so hard to sit here and not ask them “I have served your country, I have protected your shores, I have been a good man. Is it so hard to ask that you give me the same respect that you would give a straight soldier? What makes me any different from the next person sitting in this field that had protected your country?” Next time maybe you will think differently about how you treat your fellow soldiers, you never know what they do for you every day to protect your freedoms.
